The Reason I'm Still Breathing
War destroys all and rebuilds nothing. Prejudice plagues Velishka, the reigning nation in the world, and Combat Commander Elias Calahan is the fang that delivers the serpent’s venom. Mutilated by his esteemed father, and alienated by his pure-blooded peers, he embraces death as his longtime ally. As Elias’ traumatized mind devolves into chaos, Administrative Commander Dmitri Ivkosic, his adopted brother, recruits the rebellious Soren Amedzekor to protect him from himself. With this sullen immigrant on his heels, Elias bonds with his first friend since childhood who forces him to confront humanity and accept his role in a society that values violence and inequality.
